A clinical sphygmomanometer, or blood pressure cuff, is a medical instrument used to indirectly measure arterial blood pressure, consisting of an inflatable cuff, a manometer (to measure pressure), and a mechanism for inflation. It’s commonly used in medical settings to assess blood pressure by listening for sounds (Korotkoff sounds) with a stethoscope as the cuff is inflated and deflated.
