The recommended range for ETT cuff pressure is 20–30 cm H2O. This narrow range ensures that the cuff pressure is high enough to seal the airway but low enough to maintain tracheal capillary perfusion pressure. Cuff pressures are out of the recommended range 60%–80% of the time in the clinical setting.
