The amalgamator is used to mix mercury and alloy in a pre-measured capsule. The capsule is placed in the mixing head and the motor is turned on. The pestle in the mixing head crushes and mixes the mercury and alloy for a set period of time. The mixed amalgam is then removed from the capsule and used to fill a cavity.
