Reflective clothing should be sufficiently visible in order to signal the presence of the user in a high risk situation. The EN ISO 20471 standard defines three classes of reflective clothing for professional use based on three different minimum areas of the retroreflective material, background material and/or combined-performance material. The employer in discussion with the user should choose a suitable class and design of the clothing based on the risk assessment of the place and situation where reflecting clothing protection is required.
